Background Info About the Project

The reason I wanted to build a Pokémon browser extension is because I like playing old Pokémon games released for GameBoy consoles on various emulator sites. I noticed that I often Google Pokémon weaknesses and started thinking that it might be convenient if I could search for information related to Pokémon weaknesses using a browser extension. I had not built Chrome browser extensions before, so the project also seemed like a good opportunity to learn how to build new kinds of applications for myself.

Easy and Fast Search Functionality

Pokémon Weakness Finderbrowser extension was built using modern software development technologies such as Vite, React, TypeScript, Vitest and Jest. The extension utilizes PokéAPIAPI interrface, which allows the program to calculate both double and quadruple weaknesses for Pokémon. And as is good API practice, the results of API calls are cached in the browser. This can reduce the pressure on the interface and reduce the total number of API calls.
